DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER
Maria is a Russian-Canadian documentary filmmaker based in Toronto. She is the winner of the 2021 DOC Institute Breakthrough Rogers CBC Award and is currently developing her first feature documentary "Harkness" with support of CBC's documentary Channel (produced by Storyline Entertainment Inc) Collaborative and intuitive storyteller well-versed in overseeing all facets of video production, from conceptual development through final delivery. Maria's films touched on the topics of under-representation of women in combat sports and the victimization and stereotyping of refugees.
